New Delhi, June 06: A boy and his grandfather, returning to their home in Haryana after cremation of a relative here, were killed this afternoon after they were hit by a speeding car allegedly driven by a teenager.
Bhagwan Dass (55) and Rajat (5) were killed on the spot in Alipur after a Honda City car allegedly driven by Ankur (19) hit the duo, a senior police official said.
“Ankur was overspeeding and he lost control of the vehicle. He hit the duo who were walking on one side of the road,” the official said.
Rajat and his grandfather along with his mother and other relatives were walking towards bus stop after visiting a relative’s residence to attend a cremation in Bakoli village when the incident took place.
The victims were residents of Sonepat’s Kumaspur village.
“The duo were walking a few meters ahead of others,”the official said.
