Boy dies, 5 missing in landslip in Kerala

A boy was killed and five people were missing in landslips triggered by torrential rain in two villages in Kozhikode district of Kerala today. Police said body of a three-year old boy, washed away in flood waters, was recovered by rescue team at Pullurampara in the district this evening. Name of the boy, son of Thundath Biju, was yet to be ascertained, they said. Efforts were on to rescue four other members of his family, who were missing, they said. Search was also on to locate another person, Gopal, who was washed away in the flood waters at Manjuvayal in the district. Besides, many houses and standing crops were also damaged in the rain havoc in the local cities, they said. Senior officials, including Additional District Magistrate and and other top police officials, were camping at the localities to supervise rescue operations, they added. UNI
