Boy allegedly commits suicide at residential school

Hyderabad: A 12-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide at the Telangana Minorities Residential Boys School in Jeedimetla area here last night.

The boy, a class VI student, was found hanging from the hook for ceiling fan in his room, inspector C Shanker Reddy of Jeedimetla police station said today.

His parents, who live in Hyderabad, alleged that the school authorities didn’t inform them about their son’s death immediately, and claimed that there were suspicious injury marks around his neck, the officer said.

“But the preliminary investigation suggests that it was a clear case of hanging. The boy had joined the school on July 7,” he said.

Further probe is on.
