Boy abducted from Ahmedabad rescued in Dausa, two held

Jaipur, May 28: Police today rescued a seven-year-old boy who was kidnapped from a marriage ceremony in Ahmedabad and arrested two persons in this connection in Dausa, about 100 km from here.

Dausa Superintendent of Police Devendra Singh said police rescued the boy, Anurag, when the alleged kidnappers — Suraj and Rajesh — came with him to collect the ransom money.

Anurag’s father Ramratan Singh had lodged a complaint about his missing son in the Bhadas police station in Ahmedabad on May 23.

The kidnappers had called up his parents on May 25 and demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh and on May 27 they asked them to come to Jaipur with the money, the SP said.

This morning the kidnappers asked the parents to come to Dausa.

The Gujarat Police, a team of which had accompanied the parents, informed the Dausa Police and faxed a photograph of the kidnapped boy.
