Hyderabad, June 12:A day after taking charge as the Pradesh Congress Committee president, Botsa Satyanarayana on Sunday indicated that he plans to implement his assigned task of rejuvenating the Congress party by eliciting first hand information from the party cadre across the 23 districts of the state.
Talking to media persons after having a meeting with PCC office-bearers at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr Satyanarayana said that he would tour all the districts and interact with the party workers to gain firsthand information about the party’s strengths and weaknesses.
“I will start the process of strengthening the party from my home district Vizianagaram,” the PCC chief said. He added that he would visit Vizianagaram on June 18 and 19 and would meet the district level leaders.
Besides this, Mr Satyanarayana said that he was keen that the PCC office-bearers are well aware and involved in each and every aspect of every government scheme. “The office bearers should be aware of the government programmes so that these reach the intended beneficiaries,” he said.
Besides this, the PCC office bearers awareness levels should be increased to curb anti-party activities, he said.
“They should go through the reports which emanate from the disctrict levels of the party so that these any anti-party activity could be nipped in the bud and if necessary, disciplinary action can be taken,” Mr Satyanarayana said.
According to sources, the PCC has decided to continue with the existing Mandal Congress Committees and other wings until new bodies are formed.
Sources further say that the PCC is also considering to shift the Congress head quarters, the Gandhi Bhavan to Jubilee Hills due to the inconvenience caused to the general public.
An indication to this effect emerged from the PCC chief expressing displeasure at the traffic congestion due to the function to herald him in office.
Mr Satyanarayana also sought the media’s cooperation and appealed to the press to publish genuine information with distorting it.
