PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana, Minister Raghuveera Reddy and several other Congress leaders stood by Dharmana Prasada Rao, who has submitted his resignation from the cabinet, following the CBI mentioning his name in the charge-sheet in the Vanpic case.
Botsa said allegations were common in public life. He said Dharmana would get support from the party and the government. He denied reports that both party and the government were disowning him. He said that he would respond after examining the charge-sheet of the CBI. Botsa has questioned the YSR Congress honorary president Vijayamma and others why they were not talking about the helicopter crash in which Rajasekhara Reddy was killed, after meeting Central leaders in New Delhi.
Meanwhile, minister Raghuveera Reddy also extended support to Dharmana Praasada Rao. He said that all the decisions taken during the rule of YSR were cabinet decisions. Stating that Dharmana was a committed leader, he said that he had not done any thing wrong. He has maintained that there was no need for Dharmana to resign.
Meanwhile, several leaders from Srikakulam met the Chief Minister at his camp office and requested him not to accept the resignation of Dharmana. They said that Dharmana was a people’s man, who was always available to the people and said that he would not do anything wrong. (NSS)
