Hyderabad, September, 26: Senior TDP leaders S Venugopalachari and Ramana on Saturday expressed disappointment at the clean chit given to Minister Botsa Sathyanarayana in the Volkswagen case and said that the CBI has turned into the Congress Bureau of Investigations.
The TDP leaders also demanded that the allegations of corruption raised against Government Advisor KVP Ramachandra Rao be probed.
Talking to media persons, the TDP leaders called on Mr Satyanarayana to resign, owing moral responsibility for the scam since he was concerned Minister and responsible for ensuring there were no irregularities during the deal.
They said that the failure of an inquiry into the allegations of corruption would lead to doubts about the willingness of Chief Minister K Rosaiah to run a clean administration.
The TDP leaders said that the inquiry should probe KVP’s assets since the time he entered the political horizon to his present wealth.
Referring to the APIIC-Emaar scam, Mr Venugopalachary said that it would be better if Mr Ramachandra Rao was removed from the Public Safety Committee since he was also alleged to be protecting anyone whose name figured in corruption scandals.
He expressed disappointment that the government was not taking any action against Mr Ramachandra Rao even after increasing clamour of his involvement into shady deals.
