Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Tuesday called upon the people to teach a fitting lesson to those leaders, who are responsible for forcing the by-elections due to their selfish interests.
Talking to media persons after participating in Rayachoti office-bearers’ meeting in Kadapa district and launching the by-elections campaign, the PCC chief accused disqualified MLA Srikanth Reddy of switching loyalties to the YSR Congress party for Rs 5 crore. He exhorted people to teach a lesson to all those leaders and parties which are responsible for causing by-elections at the cost of public exchequer.
Botsa accused Jagan of shedding crocodile tears on pensions’ issue despite the government disbursing pension amount to the eligible people in the State. He asked Jagan to come out with proper list of people if he wants to lodge a complaint on the issue before the government.
The PCC chief reiterated that the Congress party never diluted the former chief minister YSR schemes and programmes anytime despite the huge financial constraints. Instead of proving his innocence in the disproportionate assets case being probed by the CBI, he accused Jagan of raising sensitive issues to get political mileage.
Botsa also came down heavily on Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu for targeting him on liquor syndicate issue with an eye on power.
Former minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy and MP Sai Pratap did not turn up for the meeting convened at Rayachoti. (INN)
