PCC Chief Botcha Sathyanarayana has said that the Congress party was paying tributes to the former chief minister late Dr YS Rajashekar Reddy just as it did to other late former chief ministers.
After paying tributes to Dr YSR on his third death anniversary here on Sunday at Gandhi Bhavan, Botcha spoke to the media and said that Dr YSR had brought the Congress party into power in 2004 elections by taking up padayatra of more than 1500 kilometers. He said that every Congress activist has to work hard to realize the dream of Dr YSR by making the AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister in 2014.
He said that it was not proper to talk about the credit that goes to YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, if one speaks about Dr YSR. He said that Dr YSR was a Congress activist and he remained obedient to the party till his death, and it is not correct to discuss about his son now.
Asked as to why the AICC was delaying in extending help to the bereaved families of Dr YSR fans, who died after his death, Botcha said that AICC was examining the list given by the collectors.
Asked about Jagan’s coverts in the party, he said that they were only complaints, and there was no truth in it.
Earlier, Botcha Sathyanarayana, Dr YSR’s close friend Dr KVP Ramachandra Rao, Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Danam Nagender, Youth Congress State president Challa Vamshi Chand Reddy and others paid flaoral tributes to Dr YSR’s portrait. They also paid floral tributes to the portrait of PCC Linguistic Minorities Cell Chairman Ashok Singh who died on Friday following heart attack.
