Botcha seeks votes to Cong, for Dev and Welfare

Urging the people to cast their vote to the Congress party candidates in the present bye-elections for the sake of development and welfare, the PCC Chief Botcha Sathyanarayana has said that unfortunately the YSRCP and TDP were not raising public problems in the present bye-election campaign.

Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Sunday, Botcha said that the Congress leaders from top to bottom have participated in the election campaign united. He said that casting vote to the Congress candidates would only ensure continuation of development and welfare programmes. “Casting vote to the TDP amounts to nothing but obstruction to the developmental activities”, he said. He said that casting vote to the YSRCP is nothing but encouraging corruption, looting and violent activities.

He alleged that the YSRCP honorary president YS Vijayamma was speaking total falsehood for the sake of power. He said that Vijayamma was chanting in her election campaign that the Congress party had deceived their family. Vijayamma’s daughter Sharmila was also making serious criticism against the Congress party, he said. “Sharmila would have spoken on Bayyaram mines (which were awarded to her husband Brother Anil Kumar) located in Khammam district before speaking on ethics”, he said.

He asked Vijayamma to address a letter to the CBI seeking another probe on YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in connection with Paritala Ravi murder case along with the Volkswagen case. “I am ready to face Volkswagen case again”, he said.

Questioning Vijayamma as to where was the need for the Congress leaders to kill the former chief minister Dr YSR, the PCC Chief said that Vijayamma has to reveal her doubts taking a pledge on her husband.

Botcha said that he was in power for the last eight years, but his assets were not growing as that of Jagan’s. “Jagan has to reveal the fact as to how his assets have been growing so fasr”, he said.

Finding fault with Vijayamma’s criticism on Congress party, Botcha asked what will happen to the state if the voters keep the state in the hands of Vijayamma, who was easily speaking falsehood for the sake of the bye-elections.

BLASTS NAIDU

Questioning the TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu to explain as to how the Congress had become a ‘thieves” party, Botcha said that Naidu was the person who sowed the seeds of ‘corruption’ in the state. Naidu was the reason for the huge money being spent in elections. He said that Naidu has to remember that the present elections were only bye-elections and he will not come to power even if he wins all the 18 seats. He said that Naidu has to tell the voters what he will do if he wins the bye-elections.

Responding to a question, Botcha said that he hoped the results would be favourable to the Congress, but added that nothing will happen to the state government even if the party failed to get the expected results. “We will introspect on the outcome of the bye-elections in case they are not up to the expectations of the party”, he said.

Asked about the possible defections from the party after the bye-elections, Botcha shot back asking will anybody give a guarantee that defections will not take place from the Jagan party. (NSS)
