PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana has said that the way the ACB has acted in the liquor syndicates affair with regard to his Vizianagaram district has caused him mental agony. He said he was beginning to regret being in politics.
Talking to the media, he said that he was not responding about it now, as he was a part of the government. He has however said that he would respond at the right time.
It is being said that Botcha Satyanarayana was expressing his anguish with his close associates about the way the ACB was handling the liquor issue, chiefly targeting him. He is also believed to be expressing his doubts that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was behind the ACB raids aimed at him. He is said to be telling his friends that he had done nothing wrong and had faith in God.
Referring to the ACB controversy where a former CI was abused openly by the ACB SIT chief for not implicating Botcha and his family members, the PCC chief reportedly told his friends that he was stunned at the way he was being targeted.
It may be mentioned here that Ganesh, the ACB CI, has issued a legal notice to the SIT chief, for abusing him in public for not implicating Botcha and his family members. It was also said that Botcha went to New Delhi with a copy of the legal notice and complained to AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad that the Chief Minister was trying to tarnish his image. However, in private talk Botcha is denying that he made any complaint to the AICC general secretary.
Botcha said that he would be touring the Payakaraopet area of Visakhapatnam district on April 8. On April 6, he would be organizing a public meeting in Narsannapet. He also informed that he would be going to New Delhi on April 4.
It is learnt that the Congress High Command was very much worried about the way the Chief Minister and the PCC chief were quarrelling with each other. The High Command is of the view that the party’s performance was poor because of these petty quarrels. It is learnt that the High Command has called both to New Delhi on April 4, to sort out their differences. (NSS)
