APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana has charged his Telugu Desam party counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu with trying to cheat the people by making impossible promises.
Botcha, who was on a whirlwind tour in Vijayawada on Sunday, addressed mediapersons in the party office. Referring to Naidu’s promise of earmarking 100 seats to the BCs in the elections, Botcha demanded that the TDP supremo disclose how many seats he had allotted to the BCs in the previous elections.
The PCC chief said the Congress government has the unique distinction of allocating thousands of crores of rupees in the Budget for the welfare of downtrodden sections and the process of development in the State did not stop though there were regional differences over separate Telangana movement. Stating that the YSR Congress Party was not able to spell its own name, he charged the YSRCP with claiming all Congress policies as its own in its party flag.
Ridiculing the statements of YSRCP leader Sharmila that YSR regime was the best and conveniently keeping mum on the corrupt practices, Botcha said the economic offenders were more dangerous to the whole society and the country than an ordinary murderer. He also said only a couple of MPs had joined the Jagan’s party, which was floated to cash the sympathy wave in the State. (NSS)
