PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana has said the State government was making serious efforts to solve the problems being faced by the cloth merchants’ community in the State.
Undertaking a hurricane tour in the city on Sunday, the PCC chief laid foundation stones for several developmental works in Chitti Nagar and Vidhyadharapuram.
On the occasion, the cloth merchants of Vijayawada felicitated Botcha Satyanarayana, ministers K. Parthasarathi, Kanna Lakshminarayana and local MP Lagadapati Rajagopal at the Panja Centre for getting the VAT removed on the cloth.
Replying to the felicitation, Botcha admitted that the government had put the cloth merchants to hardships for one-and-a-half year.
Speaking on the occasion, minister Parthasarathy criticized the Opposition parties for stating that they would solve their problems on coming back to power. He also ridiculed the TDP stating that it has appointed Devineni Umamaheshwara Rao as a watchman for the Krishna district. Another minister Kanna Lakshminarayana said the TDP and YSRCP have no guts to go to the people with their own photographs. He also indirectly criticized YS Jaganmohan Reddy saying that the latter had launched a party of his own with an intention to quench his lust for power though he had proclaimed that he would be in the Congress till his last breath.
