The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday claimed that books written by former bureaucrats have proved BJP’s allegations that Dr Manmohan Singh was the weakest Prime Minister of the country.
Speaking to media persons here, BJP National Spokesperson Prakash Javedkar said that CP Parekh’s book “Crusader or Conspirator?” and Sanjay Baru’s book “Accidental PM” have unraveled the fact that Dr Manmohan Singh was used as a robot with the 10 Janpath having its remote control. He said the coal blocks allocation was done based on slips issued by the 10 Janpath. That was the reason why the Prime Minister was unable to stop leaders like Dasari Narayana Rao and Shibu Soren in the coal scam.
Javedkar demanded that AICC President Sonia Gandhi should speak out her stand on the issue. She must explain as to why the Prime Minister was not given freedom to work on his own. He said the Congress party brought disrepute to the institution of Prime Minister of world’s largest democracy. He dismissed Congress party’s allegations that both the books were sponsored by BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
The BJP leader also alleged that the CBI did not conduct an in-depth enquiry into the scam. He accused the Congress of making Planning Commission, Comptroller and Auditor General of India and Public Accounts Committee non-effective organisations.
Speaking with reference to birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar on Monday, Javedkar said that the Congress party once defeated Dr Ambedkar in an election. (INN)
