Hyderabad, September 27: Noted Telugu writer Acharya SV Rama Rao has dedicated his research work titled ‘Palamuru Sahithi Vaibhavam’ to TRS chief and MP K Chandrasekhar Rao at a programme at the Telangana Bhavan here on Sunday. The TRS leader released the book and handed over the first copy to Prof Krishna Rao, head, department of Telugu, Osmania University.
“Though Telangana is known for literary movements, unfortunately it was not recognised by Andhra and Rayalaseema regions,” he observed and complimented SV Rama Rao for coming out with the book at the right time.
The TRS chief maintained that the book will be an eye-opener to some Telugu literary personalities who neglected Telangana’s contribution to Telugu language and literature. “I am happy and deem it an honour,” the TRS president said accepting the book from the author.
SV Rama Rao said the book encapsulates 1,000-year history of Mahabubnagar district. Many Telugu literary personalities from Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema region who visited Mahabubnagar district were surprised to learn the contribution by writers of the district to Telugu literature, he said.
“As Chandrasekhar Rao represents Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha constituency, I felt he is the right person to whom I can dedicate the book,” the author explained. Medak MP Vijayasanthi was among the leaders present.
