Bonalu reflects TS culture: Nayini

Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy today said that Bonalu festival reflects the age old culture of Telangana and being celebrated across the state and especially in

Hyderabad and Secunderabad. On Wednesday the minister made a visit to Miralam Mandi’s Pochamma temple and offered special prayers on the occasion.

 

The Home Minister said that the Bonalu festivities see a great congregation of people at noted temples like Haribowli’s Akkanna Madanna Temple,

 

Simhavahini Temple in Lal Darwaja and other areas like Golkonda and Ujjaini

Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad. He said that the Bonalu is being celebrated in the old city that sees a human see as large number of people along with family members offer special prayers. Matangi Mata predicted good drains and better future for the state he said. The government is spending necessary funds for smooth and peaceful conduct of the festivals he claimed. The old city is noted for communal harmony and brotherhood and used to celebrate all festivals in a similar manner he said. The State Government is making elaborate arrangements and our police had taken steps to prevent terror strike by taking NIA inputs he said.

India is against terror activities and Telangana state police acted swiftly to thwart any incidents he added. (NSS)
