Officials say roadside bombings have targeted Army and police convoys in northern Iraq, killing six troops.
Police officials say a bomb struck a military convoy on Tuesday morning in the volatile city of Mosul, killing three soldiers and two officers.
A policeman was killed when a roadside bomb hit his convoy around midday, also in Mosul. The city is 360 kilometres (225 miles) northwest of Baghdad.
Medical official confirmed the death toll. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorised to talk to media.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks but security forces are a favourite target for Sunni insurgents.
Today’s bombings came a day after a string of deadly attacks in several Iraqi cities, including Mosul, killed at least 63 people.
