Bomb threat to school turns out to be hoax

Sivaganga, January 02: Students and teachers of a private matriculation school were evacuated following an anonymous call at Manalur near Thirubhuvanam in Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu, today. The correspondent of Alagu Malar matriculation school received an anonymous telephone call about the bomb threat in the morning. This prompted the school management to declare a holiday. The teachers and students were immediately evacuated from the campus. On being informed, a special police team led by Sivaganga Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) Anbu and sleuths of Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) rushed to the school and conducted a thorough search till noon. The threat, however, turned out to be a hoax as the police did not find anything. Thirubhuvanam police registered a case.
