Chennai, December 16: More than a thousand employees are being evacuated from an IT park near Chennai after the police received a phone call warning of a bomb.
The complex houses the training centre of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
A special police squad has been rushed to the site. TCS is India’s biggest exporter of software services.
In a statement, TCS has said, “Another tenant in the building that houses the TCS training facility at Ambattur, Chennai received a call threatening the safety of the facility on Friday morning. As the safety of our employees is paramount, we have evacuated all TCS trainees and faculty from the location in an orderly manner. The police and their specialist teams have taken control of the facility and are conducting their investigations into the incident. This incident will not have any impact on our business operations in Chennai as the facility was a training facility.”
