Bomb kills 10 in south Afghanistan: officials

Kandahar, March 21: At least ten people were killed Sunday and nine injured in a bomb blast targeting an army convoy in southern Afghanistan, officials said.

“An explosion by a three-wheeled motorcycle targeting an army convoy killed at least ten civilians in a crowded area of Gereshk district,” Daud Ahmadi, spokesman for the Helmand provincial government,

He said the blast happened after the convoy had crossed a bridge, beneath which crowds of people were picnicking to mark the traditional Zoroastrian new year.
