Bomb exploded in Madurai, two killed six injured

Chennai, October 06: At least two people were killed and six injured when a bomb exploded at the Chozhavandan Railway Station in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu.

The blast took place on the platform of the station when a train from Myladudarai to Tiruneiuli had made a halt there and passengers were getting down.

According to the sources a TTE and RPF jawan were killed.

Tamil Nadu police said the cause of the explosion was not known and it could turn out to be a cracker explosion as some fireworks were being unloaded.

Initial reports have ruled out any terror angle to the incident but toll may go up as the station was crowded.
