New Delhi, December 05: A telephone call claiming that a bomb had been planted in a Jet Airways flight to Dhaka today turned out to be a drill by the bomb squad and security agencies to test the alertness of the concerned personnel at the IGI Airport here. The caller, claiming to be ULFA chief Paresh Barua, said a bomb had been planted in the aircraft which was ready to take off, airport officials said.
After the call was received at the airline”s back office in the terminal building, the aircraft, which was full, was moved to an isolation bay. All passengers were evacuated and luggage off-loaded as part of the standard emergency drill, a senior CISF officer told.The aircraft was thoroughly checked as per the Standard Operating Procedures, he said.
