Telangana Congress MPs met AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad here this morning and complained that the style of functioning of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy was responsible for the bomb blasts in Hyderabad.
The MPs, Ponnam Prabhakar, Rajaiah and Vivek, met Azad and told him that the blasts threw a bad light on the working of the Congress government.
Taking to the media later, Ponnam found fault with the Chief Minister taking the warnings issued by the Intelligence agencies lightly. He said they demanded that there should be an inquiry into the working of the Chief Minister and the police failure.
He said it was unfortunate that the government was keeping the party’s MPs and ministers of the Telangana region under Intelligence scanner. He said the unfortunate blasts would not have occurred if only the government used the Intelligence agencies for scanning the movements of terrorists. He said that instead of having registered bind-over cases and arrests against the MPs, the government should have concentrated more on the safety of the people.
Azad, who arrived here yesterday evening, visited the blast sites at Dilsukhnagar. Several ‘T’ Congress leaders met him and asked that an early solution be found to the Telangana tangle. (NSS)
