Islamabad, December 09: Two employees of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in was targeted with a roadside bomb in the country?s troubled northwest today.
The blast occurred in Lakki Marwat district of North West Frontier Province, officials were quoted as saying by Geo News channel.
A technician and the vehicle?s driver were injured in the attack, they said. Both men sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. The windows of the vehicle were shattered by the blast.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
The PAEC has several important installations in the Lakki Marwat area, including a uranium mine.
Militants have carried out a series of audacious attacks on government installations and civilian targets since the army launched an operation against the Taliban in South Waziristan tribal region in October.
