Kabul, May 24: A bomb explosion has targeted a passenger vehicle in Afghanistan’s western province of Farah, killing five civilians and wounding eight others.
The incident occurred on Monday when a blast ripped through a Toyota Coaster bus, carrying passengers from the district of Pusht Rod in Farah province to Khaki Safed district, AFP quoted the Afghan interior ministry as saying.
Five civilians were killed in the bomb attack and another eight were injured, said the ministry, adding that some of those wounded were in critical condition.
The attack was blamed on “enemies of Afghanistan” — a term frequently used by Afghan authorities in reference to Taliban militants.
The Monday attack came a day after armed militants opened fire on a minibus in the northern Baghlan province, killing three civilians.
