Bollywood protests for justice to eight-year-old Kathua rape victim

New Delhi: The Bollywood industry took to social media protesting against the gang rape and brutal killing of the eight-year-old Kashmiri girl. The victim was abducted, kept on sedatives and raped for three days before she was murdered.

Mass protests are being organised across the country, asking for justice to the victim. Several Bollywood stars like Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akhtar, director Hansal Mehta and many showed their support for justice to the victim.

The name of the victim has not been revealed as per the Delhi High Court’s order on Friday. The HC had issued notices to several media houses for disclosing the identity of the eight-year-old girl who was gang-raped and murdered in Kathua district.

According to a report by TOI, a bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar had sought a response from the media houses, asking why action should not be taken against them on the matter.
