Bollywood hails Mother Nature on World Earth Day

New Delhi : Bollywood stars took to Twitter to spread green messages on World Earth Day, this Friday. Many of them pointed at exceeding harm of plastic, ever rising pollution level, and day-by-day increasing global warming.

Here are some of the tweets making rounds on the micro-blogging site:

Actress Anushka Sharma tweeted, “It’s so disheartening and terrible to see our plastic addiction destroy wildlife and mother nature. This #EarthDay it’s time to wake up, start acting and put an end to it now! #EndPlasticPollution”.

Actor Randeep Hooda took on a lighter note and posted, “Now that ones got your attention #LetsNotLoseOurSenseOfHumour #SayNoToPlastic #EarthDay”.

Actress Madhuri Dixit wrote, “This #EarthDay let’s work together to make this planet a better place for our future generations. ?Save water?? ?Plant more trees ?? ?Say NO to plastic bags”.

Actress Raashi Khanna of ‘Madras Cafe’ fame wrote, “Here are the little things we can do to make every day #EarthDay”.

Television actor Gautam Rode urged everyone to “make an effort towards a greener and a better world.”

Apart from Bollywood personalities, sports stars also sent out messages to make mother earth a better place to live in.

Cricketer VVS Laxman also sent out a message on Earth Day and tweeted, “The earth is what we all have in common. Day’s like #EarthDay are a gentle reminder to strengthen our resolve to make our mother earth a better place to live in. Let’s all contribute in the best possible way”.

Cricketer Anil Kumble wrote, “Take ownership, take it as your own because this home belongs to each of us. This Earth is ours to safeguard, ours to protect. #EarthDay”.

Cricketer Yuvraj Singh wrote, “A Healthy Earth means healthy all of us, according to @WHO #climatechange is expected to cause additional 250,000 death per year in near future. On #EarthDay let’s pledge to protect our planet and make it more green and healthy and say no to plastic”.

Cricketer Harbhajan Singh wrote, “This #EarthDay let’s make an effort to cut down on plastic products as much as possible, as they are very harmful to the Earth. I urge you all to help keep the environment safe. God bless #EndPlasticPollution”.
