Kanpur, July 12: The body of a 11-year-old child, which allegedly bore signs of torture, was found from a lake in the Shivrajpur district here, police said.
Ankit, son of Taktoli village resident Ram Bahadur, went missing yesterday and the child’s relatives went to search him, the police said.
His body was later found from a lake, they added.
Police said Ankit’s relatives alleged that the villagers, who had a dispute over a land with his father, had killed him.
A case has been registered and the body sent for a post-mortem, they added.
