Kanpur, March 14: The body of the man who is suspected to have been mudered by a policeman was today exhumed and sent for post-mortem, with doctors saying he was strangled to death.
Mukesh, a resident of the city, was allegedly picked up from Anandpuri here on March 4 and detained him for interrogation in a case related to the trade of narcotic substance.
According to the police, a body was found at Akbarpur in Kanpur (Dehat) district five days ago. Yesterday, the body was identified as of Mukesh.
His family had identified him from the photos taken by the police and clothes.
Police today exhumed his body after getting permission from the distrit administration and sent it for post-mortem. A panel of three doctors which performed it said he had been strangled to death.
