The body of a five year-old girl, reported missing since yesterday evening, was found under “suspicious circumstances” in a pit near her residence in Kodichikkanahalli here today, police said.
The deceased was residing with her mother, a maid servant.
Her father was employed as an agriculture labourer in Mandya, police said.
The woman had left the child with its grandmother before leaving for work yesterday.
