Body of a 2-year-old boy found in floating in a river

M.Jeeva, a two-year-old boy who went missing from outside his home in Arumbakkam was found dead. His body was floating in the Cooum River behind his house in Chennai.

Police are investigating to determine whether the boy drowned unintentionally or being abducted and killed. He was last seen on the Monday morning when he was playing outside his house at Doctor R.K Nagar in Arumbakkam.

His father Murali, who works as a welder filed a complaint with police and glued posters around the area following which the police had then launched a hunt for the boy, at around 8 a.m. in the morning, residents found the body of a child floating on the water.

The police were notified and a team fished the body out. His body was sent for a post-mortem examination to the Kilpauk government Hospital. The police suspected that the body might be that of Jeeva’s and called his family, who arrived and identified the body, the investigation is on.
