My blunder that I gave KD Singh a ticket says Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata : After police initiated a case against the Alchemist Chief and Trinamool Congress MP K.D. Singh for allegedly cheating investors, West Bengal Chief Minister and party’s supremo Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said giving him a ticket was a blunder.

“Giving a ticket to K.D. Singh was my blunder. We did make a mistake,” She told Bengali TV channel – ABP Ananda in an interview.

A suo-moto case was started by the Kolkata police against the Group’s chit fund arm and its owners including K.D. Singh for alleged cheating on the basis of a complaint lodged by 69 investors on March 16 in city’s Bowbazar police station, police said on Thursday.

“Police started a suo moto case against the company owners including K.D. Singh, his son Kumarjit Singh and others on the charges of cheating (IPC 420), criminal breach of trust by banker, merchant or agent (IPC 409) and criminal conspiracy (IPC 120b),” Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vishal Garg said.

“Public lodged complaint against his company and the police takes action. A Law will take its own course,” Banerjee said.

Incidentally, Narada News chief Mathew Samuel, who conducted a sting operation purportedly showing Trinamool Congress leaders accepting bribes, reportedly claimed that the sting operation was sponsored by Alchemist chief K.D. Singh.

“Narada issue is a case of political conspiracy. BJP has good relation with K.D.Singh and it may be the case that he was forced to do it (fund the Narada sting operation). I do not know,” Banerjee said when asked about the sponsorship of the sting operation.

“The conspiracy angle of the Narada sting must be investigated. Why were 2014 tapes published in 2016?” she asked.
