Blueprint for measurement of TV viewership soon

New Delhi, July 09: The Broadcast Audience Research Council, an industry body formed to measure TV audience, shall in the next few weeks initiate its blueprint for measurement of viewership.

The blueprint shall capture key concerns, requirements and a proposed road map to the new measurement service.

The research parameters shall be regularly updated so as to reflect developments in delivery platforms, growth in viewership and ensuring financial viability of the service, the Indian Broadcasting Federation (IBF) announced here today.

BARC has been formed as a joint partnership between the IBF and the Indian Society of Advertisers (ISA), with a 60:40 partnership.

“The initial research would be funded by a corpus of Rs 30 crore, which would also be shared in the ratio of 60:40 by IFB and ISA,” Jawahar Goel Head of Business, DishTV, who is currently President of the IBF told reporters here today.
