Blood collection center opened in Shiridi Sai temple area

Shirdi Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust chairman Dr Suresh Haware today inaugurated a blood collection centre near Lendibag in Sai temple area.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Suresh Haware said blood is  most essential item for various patients in the country and there is no  option available for blood. Therefore, taking up the concept of importance of Hair donation at Tirupati, Blood donation at Shirdi has been started. 

As a part of this concept, a Blood Collection Center has been started at the Temple area at Shirdi. In order to facilitate blood donors with an independent arrangement for blood donation and with a view that there should be a separate hall for blood collection, the center has  Been located at Temple area and near Lendibag.  Shirdi draws over 50,000 visitors everyday. Even if one percent of them donate blood, 500 bottles will be collected. Sansthan will be in touch with 25 Blood Banks in the State and these will collect blood as required from here. 

In Maharashtra State, there are some 6,000 Thalassemia patients, who would benefit from these services. Dr Suresh Haware said Sansthan will be making efforts to organize Mega Blood Donation Camps on a Global scale during the Shri Saibaba Samadhi Centenary Celebrations. On the occasion, Principal Shivling Patni from Shirdi and Bharat Bagle, a Sai devotee from Wardha, donated blood, according a release from Shirdi said.

On the occasion, Sansthan vice-chairman Chandrashekhar Kadam, Trustee Bhausaheb Wakchoure, Trustee and Municipal Council Chairman  Yogita Shelke, Chief Executive Officer Rubal Agrawal, Dy  Collector Dhananjay Nikam, Manoj Ghodepatil, Dy Executive Officer Dr Sandeep Aher, Medical Director Dr Vijay Narode, Medical Superintendent Dr Maithili Pitambare, Dr Suryakant Patil from Sainath Blood Bank, all administrative officers and others were present.
