A bizarre incident of a Blind School correspondent and the principal indiscriminately belaboring three students came to light on Monday.
A video film on the shocking incident benumbed the entire country. Three blind students — Sai, Surendra and Joseph — were indiscriminately caned by school correspondent K V Rao and principal Srinivas on the charge that the trio made noise in the school. Some people who shot the thrashing of the students handed over the video film to the media on Monday. With this, the parents of the victims raided the school and attacked the correspondent. The irate mob also went berserk and destroyed furniture.
When accosted about the thrashing of the students, the school correspondent initially denied the charge but later admitted his guilt. The video showed how the assaulter, who was also visually challenged, delivered blow upon blow. The children were heard screaming, begging to be spared. While the three young students were seen screaming, the teacher held of one of them and banged his head against the floor. Another man, whose face was not clear in the video, was seen helping the assaulter to beat the kids who all were younger than 10.
The video went viral as the footage was showed in all TV news channel on Monday, July 21. The police said the man who is seen caning the children runs the Greenfield Residential School for visually challenged children. He has been arrested; so also the school principal.
