New Delhi, August 10: A blind couple was murdered in their residence today and their valuables found missing, with police suspecting the hand of their two tenants who are yet to be nabbed.
The victims, Rajender Verma (52) and Sudha (50), lived in Vivek Vihar. While Verma was smothered, his wife was strangled with a wire, a senior police official said.
The incident came to light when Hema, one of their three daughters, telephoned them at around 5 am.
“She did not get a response and then called one of the neighbours Amit Rana. He went to check and found the bodies,” the official said.
Investigators suspect the involvement of their two tenants, who began living in their house a week ago, and have gone missing. One of them is identified as Ashwini, who works in a call centre in Noida.
