Those who have turned blind due to burn injuries or acid can now regain their sight with the help of stem cells. This was stated by Dr Virender Singh Sangwan, Associate Director and Chairman of Cornea Service at L V Prasad Eye Institute while speaking on the issue of transplant of stem cells at a function organised at Pt B D S University of Health Sciences today. Dr Virender Sangwan said stem cells could enable the blind to gain sight irrespective of the cause of their blindness. Vice-Chancellor S S Sangwan also spoke on the occasion. Director of the PGIMS Rohtak Chand Singh Dull said the system to transplant stem cells would be introduced at the institute. UNI
