Hyderabad, September 01 (Siasat News): Sana Arcade situated at Tolichowki was engulfed with smoke of the fire, which broke out at the time of namaz-e-asar.
The thick smoke caused heavy traffic jam. The fire was the cause of a short circuit in a furniture godown but fortunately there are no casualties reported. However, the exact amount of the damage is yet to be ascertained.
As soon as the news of the fire spread, the fire engines from Madhapur, Gowlipura and Langar Houz were brought in service and they had to struggle to extinguish the fire by 8.30 pm.
This is to be recalled here that earlier Sana Arcade used to house an ATM, a beauty parlour, a cloth showroom and a furniture godown. The furniture godown was earlier run as a restaurant but after the restaurant was winded up, the furniture of the restaurant was kept at the same place.
The fire started exactly at 5.15 pm. At that time, the panic ridden people started packing up their belongings smelling the danger to their lives. Cloth shops, ATM, beauty parlour, all joints took the precautionary measures and left the place.
In the meantime, people started assembling there and fire engines were called. According to Humayun Nagar police station, there were no casualties in the fire mishap whereas the estimate of the property loss is being calculated.
Police sources further said that the restaurant owner had vacated the place but due to non-payment of the rent, the furniture of the restaurant was kept there. Police Humayun Nagar is further investigating.
