Peshawar, November 05: At least 25 people were killed and several more injured when a blast hit a mosque at the time of Friday prayers in the restive Darra Adam Khel region of northwest Pakistan today.

There was no official word on the nature of the blast in Akhorwal village in Darra Adam Khel, where security forces have carried out several operations to flush out Taliban fighters.

Some TV news channels reported that the blast, which occurred while a large number of people were offering Friday prayers, was caused by a suicide bomber.
