Blast in Beed injures four

Four persons of a family were injured following a blast near the Ambejogai town in the Beed district of Marathwada region of Maharashtra on Friday.

Reports reaching Mumbai, the state capital, said that the exact nature of the blast is not yet known, but officials from the Forensic Department are conducting the investigations.

A team of the Anti-Terrorism Squad from Aurangabad is also rushing to Beed to join investigations currently being carried out by the Beed police.

Initial reports said that a conductor of the state transport bus – that reached Beed from Kurla in Mumbai – found an unattended parcel in the bus and reportedly took it home.

In that he found a transistor like equipment, when went off after he switched it on, at his home.

The victims were identified as Om Nimbalkar (32), his wife Usha (25), his son Kunal (3) and his mother Sushma (55).

“We are yet gathering the details….as of now it has not yet been ascertained, whether it is a bomb blast or otherwise,” an official of the State Intelligence Department said.
