Blasphemy: All India Ulama and Mashaikh Board sends letter to UN & Holland govt.

New Delhi: Founder-president All India Ulama and Mashaikh Board (AIUMB) and Chairman World Sufi Forum Syed Mohammad Ashraf Kichuachwi said that blasphemy against Prophet (PBUH) is intolerable. He slammed the MLA of Holland for holding blasphemous cartoon competition and termed it as terrorism saying that insult to any religion is nothing but terrorism.

Mohammed Ashraf informed that AIUMB has registered protest by writing a letter to the United Nations and Holland government and demanded strict punishment to the person or institutions holding such blasphemous competition.

The Board also urged Government of India to register a protest with Holland government as the action has hurt the sentiments of crores of Muslims residing in India. A Muslim cannot tolerate blasphemy against the Prophet (PBUH) hence the hate mongers want to provoke Muslims by doing such acts. It is part of a global conspiracy, he said.

Last month, The Independent reported that a Dutch politician, Geert Wilders, wanted to hold a blasphemous cartoon contest where participants could draw the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to promote ‘freedom of speech.’ Wilders and his political party, Party for Freedom, are notorious for their anti-Islamic rhetoric.
