Blasphemous lady don Sonu Dangar nabbed; likely to be shifted to Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A team of officials from Rajkot crime branch has nabbed blasphemous lady don of Gujarat Sonu Dangar from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. She is involved in more than 10 serious cases in Gujarat and several non-bailable warrants were issued against her.

A massive protest was organised in Hyderabad’s Old City area last week, and several Muslim organisations conducted a rally from Charminar to the office of the South Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police, to protest against the derogatory comments made on Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) by the Gujarati don on social media, which went viral over the last two weeks.

Consequently, Charminar police booked a case against her under IPC Sections 153(A) (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion) and 295(A) (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) and began investigations.

A three-member team of Charminar police, led by Additional Inspector Charminar Shiva Chandram, had been sent to Rajkot to arrest her, even as the Gujarat police was also on the lookout for her. The crime branch and special operation group (SOG) of Rajkot police had formed eight teams of officials to trace Dangar. Finally she was arrested on Friday.

Hyderabad police is trying to shift her to the city on Prisoner Transit Warrant (PT warrant). ACP Charminar K Ashok Chakraborty has confirmed her arrest and informed that the Rajkot police has shifted her to jail.
