New Delhi, February 22: A 26-year-old man, “notorious” for attacking high-profile criminals like Romesh Sharma and Fazlu-ur-Rehman while in Tihar Jail with blades, was arrested here, police said today.
Mohd Sheru, who is allegedly involved in at least 25 cases of attempt to murder, extortion and snatching, was caught from south Delhi’s Munirka on February 19, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) H G S Dhaliwal said.
“He is so desperate and notorious for his ‘blade baazi’ activity in Tihar Jail that he has injured or threatened various high-profile criminals including Romesh Sharma, underworld Don Fazlu-ur-Rehman, Krishan Solonki and Mohd Iftikar Hussain and cases have been registered against him for these criminal acts,” Dhaliwal said.
“He used to extort ‘protection money’ from many of these high profile criminals.
