Mumbai: Actress Kangana Ranaut, who has accused Hrithik Roshan and his legal team of “slut-shaming” her by leaking her personal mails and photographs, has said “blackmailing” or “threatening” her wont work as it doesnt scare her.
“… blackmailing or threatening won?t work with me. Though my legal team is taking strict actions against blackmailing and threatening me, but as a girl it doesn?t scare me. You won?t get a sorry by threatening me or circulating my love poems, letters or images,” said Kangana, who has also written to Commissioner of Police seeking the arrest of the actor for releasing her letters and photographs to the media.
“I am not ashamed of anything, not my past, not my affairs, not my body and most definitely not my desire. So slut-shaming won?t work either. If they want an apology then they have to come to the point, beating about the bush won?t help, me and my team are eager to help as hurting sentiments isn?t our intention,” she said.
The legal and public fight has been going on for more than a month between the two former co-stars but no one seems to be in a mood to relent.
“In a legal matter, only on record statements can be addressed not gossip. So here?s my final word: If the other party who sued me for defamation and asked for a public apology can prove defamation, I promise to apologise publicly. I request the other party to respond to the legal matter which they have started and not turn this defamation suit into a media trial and judgment,” Kangana told Miss Malini entertainment and fashion web portal.
The 29-year-old actress said that if Hrithik is “sincerely seeking an apology”, then he and his team must help her understand “their perspective.”
Initially, the cold war between the two started in the media but Hrithik, who initially took to Twitter to deny an affair with anyone, decided to opt for legal recourse.
In February, he sent a legal notice to Kangana asking her to publicly apologise for referring to him as “silly ex” in one of her interviews. He also accused her of wrongly claiming to have had a relationship with him, saying their relationship was strictly professional.
The actor also filed a cyber complaint, claiming someone was impersonating him and talking to his fans and colleagues on his behalf.
He later claimed that Kangana was interacting with this impersonator and when she met him at a party and told him about this, he gave her his real email id but she bombarded him with messages and photographs.
Kangana, on her part, slapped a counter legal notice on the actor saying she was not ashamed of her relationship and she had not named him in her interview hence there was no case of defamation.
The actress said it was a poor ruse by actor to cover his relationship. PTI
