BJP’s Shazia Ilmi apologises to Kapil Sibal’s son

New Delhi: Continuing on the sorry spree begun by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, BJP leader Shazia Ilmi apologised to Amit Sibal, the son of former Union minister Kapil Sibal. It must be noted that Amit Sibal, who is a senior advocate had filed a criminal defamation case in 2013 against Shazia for her remarks she had made when she was a member of the Aam Aadmi Party.

Ilmi and Sibal submitted a joint application before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal. The complainant said Ilmi had accepted that her allegations unfounded and she regretted making them. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal has reserved order on their application for April 19.

Amit Sibal accepted the apology but said the case proceedings against former AAP leader and advocate Prashant Bhushan will however continue.

It must be recalled that the court had disposed the case against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on March 19 after both of them apologised to Amit Sibal and his father for their remarks.
