BJP would have won in Palamur but for hard work of TRS cadre, says Aruna

Hyderabad: Newly joined BJP leader D K Aruna on Saturday said her party achieved moral victory and missed the bus from Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha seat as the ruling party burned midnight oil to ensure victory of their candidates.

Addressing mediapersons at the district party office, Aruna said the BJP created history under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party national president Amit Shah in the Lok Sabha elections.

Pointing out that the BJP had secured only two lakh votes in alliance with the TDP in 2014, she said her party has secured 3.33 lakh votes on its own. The trend shows that the people in the new State were leaning towards the saffron party. Referring to the defeat of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha in Nizamabad, Aruna demanded that CM Chandrashekhar Rao and his son KT Rama Rao resign owning moral responsibility to Kavitha’s defeat. She said she strongly feels that the TRS government might fall any time under the present situation.

Commenting on the miserable performance of the Congress, Aruna said the position of the oldest party could be gauged from the fact that even its president young Rahul Gandhi was defeated at the hands of a junior Union minister in their bastion. She also felt there was no chance of that party wresting power on its own and therefore all Congress men should join hands with the BJP to dislodge TRS party from power.
