Panaji: Senior BJP leader and Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has won the Panaji by-polls winning 4,803 votes while BJP Health Minister Vishwajit Rane won Valpoi assembly by-polls winning 10,066 votes defeating their Congress rivals on Monday.
Manohar Parrikar received 9862 votes against Congress Secretary Girish Chodankar who received 5059 votes while Goa Suraksha Manch Anand Shirdokar got 220 votes.
Health Minister Rane polled 16167 votes against Congress Roy Naik who received 6101 votes in Valpoi by-polls.
The Panaji by-polls polled a total 15,538 votes while Valpoi polled 23,038 votes in the elections held on 23 August.
After BJP winning the by-polls in Panaji and Valpoi, BJP now stands with 14 seats in 40 member House.
