Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday expressed confidence that his party would emerge victorious in the ensuing by-election in Parakala assembly segment.
Talking to media persons while participating in the national executive committee meeting being held at Bhimavaram in West Godavari district, Venkaiah Naidu said that the BJP would repeat the same performance in Parakala constituency on the lines of Mahbubnagar seat in the recent by-elections. He said that the BJP would not go for any alliance for 294 seats in the general elections and would contest on its own. “There will be no tie-up in the ensuing general elections and the BJP will contest independently from all constituencies in the State,” he stated.
Venkaiah said that the party would go by-elections with the development works taken up during NDA regime and expose the corruption, which took place during the stint of UPA Government. He called upon party cadre to highlight the corruption in the State in the by-elections. He said that the party would intensify agitations on public issues from mandal level now onwards.
Meanwhile, tension prevailed in the executive committee meeting for some time as the Samaikyandhra Joint Action Committee leaders raised `Jai Samaikhya Andhra’ slogans and demanded BJP state president G Kishan Reddy to make his stand clear on bifurcation of state issue. The JAC leaders argued that the division of State would cause heavy damage to Seemandhra region.
However, the police pacified the JAC leaders and send them out from the meeting venue. (INN)
