BJP Telangana State president Dr K Laxman will embark on a week-long “Telangana Vimochana Yatra” across the State from Friday to mount pressure on the TRS government to celebrate September 17 Hyderabad State Liberation Day officially.
Addressing the media at the State BJP office here on Thursday, Laxman said his party would galvanize support for the demand to celebrate the day officially by ruling party. During the week-long yatra beginning from Friday, Laxman would address eight public meetings and take out eight rallies in various places in Telangana districts.
The State BJP chief will perform puja at Goddess Durga Devi temple at Basheerbagh crossroad at 9 am and address party workers at RTC Kalyana Mandapam at Bagh Lingampally at 11am. At 3 pm he will pay homage to Telangana Martyrs at the Memorial opposite Telangana State Assembly.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to address a public meeting on September 17 in Nizamabad. Party MLAs NVSS Prabhakar, Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, Raja Singh, former party president Indrasen Reddy and official spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao were present. (NSS)
