Chandigarh: Soon after offering 11-month-old Jannayak Janta Party a Dy CM post the BJP MLAs are now demanding a Dy CM post for their party too.
The saffron party has demanded two deputy CMs for the state of Haryana from each party.
According to reports, hours after sealing the deal with JJP, the winning BJP MLAs have contended that if a post of Deputy CM post is given to JJP, then the same should be done for the BJP in order to maintain the balance of power.
Doing so will balance the power among the two parties and that this will also prevent the JJP from amassing power in the state and upstaging the BJP.
BJP MLA Anil Vij is the leading choice for the BJP’s Deputy CM.
BJP failed to cross the majority mark in the recently held Harayana’s Assembly elections.
While JJP won 10 seats extended their support to the BJP on Friday with an offer to have the Deputy CM’s post in exchange of alliance agreement.
Whereas the Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed BJP will get the chief minister post whereas the JJP will get the deputy chief minister post.
“Manohar Lal Khattar to be chief minister, JJP to get deputy CM post,” Amit Shah said yesterday on alliance agreement between the two parties.
